The Euler Equations on Thin Domains

For the Euler equations in a thin domain Qε = Ω×(0, ε), Ω a rectangle in R, with initial data in (W (Qε)), q > 3, bounded uniformly in ε, the classical solution is shown to exist on a time interval (0, T (ε)), where T ( ) → +∞ as → 0. We compare this solution with that of a system of limiting equations on Ω.

Numerical solution of second-order elliptic equations on plane domains

— The paper présents a gênerai discretization method for convective diffusion équations. The schemes are hased on an intégral formula and have the following advantages : 1. They are effective particularly in the case when convection is dominated ; 2. Solutions obtained by them satisfy a discrete conservation law ; 3. A discrete maximum principle is valid. We show that the fïnite element solutio...

Semilinear Elliptic Equations in Thin Domains with Reaction Terms Concentrating on Boundary

In this paper we analyze the behavior of a family of steady state solutions of a semilinear reaction-diffusion equation with homogeneous Neumann boundary condition, posed in a two-dimensional thin domain whit reaction terms concentrated in a narrow oscillating neighborhood of the boundary. We assume that the domain, and therefore, the oscillating boundary neighborhood, degenerates into an inter...

Theory of Hybrid Fractional Differential Equations with Complex Order

We develop the theory of hybrid fractional differential equations with the complex order $thetain mathbb{C}$, $theta=m+ialpha$, $0<mleq 1$, $alphain mathbb{R}$, in Caputo sense. Using Dhage's type fixed point theorem for the product of abstract nonlinear operators in Banach algebra; one of the operators is $mathfrak{D}$- Lipschitzian and the other one is completely continuous, we prove the exis...
